Sprockets Ride School specialises in teaching children how to ride bicycles. We have a tried and tested formula that is flexible enough to adjust for children with additional needs, making it suitable for all students to learn at their own pace.
We operate on Saturdays and Sundays every weekend, as well as Monday through Thursday during school holidays, weather permitting.
With most of our staff being high school or uni students, we understand that you are juggling a number of priorities in terms of school and extra-curricular activities.
Location
- Sydney Olympic Park (Saturdays)
- Concord (Sundays)
- Maroubra (School Holidays)
Most of our staff live near our weekend operation sites, making it easy to get to work. Transport is made easier for staff who live out of the area. They can be provided with a lift between Concord West Station and our venue return.
During school holidays, staff travel as a team to Maroubra and receive an additional 30 minutes of pay to help cover the travel time.
About the Role
Successful candidates will teach children how to ride a bicycle. Students are typically aged 6 to 10.
You will be while you are being fully trained in our method of teaching the program over a few weeks.
This role is especially suitable for high school or university students thinking who plan to work with children in the future.
Essential Requirements
- Ability to ride a bicycle confidently in front of the student.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Over 18s require a current NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable Requirements
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience interacting with children, eg, babysitting, mentoring younger kids in sport, etc.
Availability
We are seeking staff who can work on Saturday and/or Sunday mornings. Once fully trained, you will be offered work on weekends and chance to work during the school holidays between 1 and 4 days per week depending on your availability.
Commitment
Once your training is complete, we will add you into our booking system depending on your availability.
While our preference is for consistent staffing, we are flexible enough to expect you to have time off at certain times of the year.
Fortunately most significant commitments have dates set well in advance. Examples include;
- School exam periods.
- End of season sporting finals or away trips.
- Orchestra performances etc.
- Interstate commitments. Eg a weekend away for your aunty’s wedding.
- Family holidays.
Our booking system allows you to make yourself unavailable well in advance from an app on your phone.
