Retention
Retention of imagery captured by Sprockets Ride School depends on it’s intended purpose. That is, if it is used for security purposes or social media purposes.
Security
Video for security purposes is recorded on a loop with the oldest footage automatically being overwritten every few weeks. It is overwritten sooner during school holidays.
Social Media (everyone)
Footage may be sourced from hand held devices, or small portions of security footage. Consider posts made in social media as published indefinitely and visible by all.
Children may appear in social media with faces obscured to help promote Sprockets Ride School.
We do not name or provide personal details with any posts.
Social Media With Consent
Consider posts made in social media as published indefinitely and visible by all.
Parents/guardians who are comfortable with social media, may opt to provide consent for their child to be featured in our social media.
As above, we do not name or provide personal details with any posts.
The difference is their faces may be visible. -Other kids in the background may have their faces obscured.
As a thank you, we offer a 10% discount to parents who are happy to provide consent.
Third Party Footage
Sprockets Ride School has no control over third party footage.
Parents
Sprockets Ride School cannot stop parents from taking video of their own kids, even if your kids are in the frame.
The broad rule in Australia is; there is no right to privacy in public.
Non-parents
Sprockets Ride School takes child safety seriously.
While we cannot do much about the general public filming in public, please report any behaviour that feels inappropriate.
